The entire world marvelled at the reunification of Germany and Europe. Many are left speechless seeing the pace at which this is going on as scheduled. I am repeatedly asked how it is possible that I announced this reunification as many as twenty years ago. It can be easily explained. I was only saying what had been foretold in the biblical prophecy. Daniel saw that the sea of the world had swelled and four beasts representing four world empires had come out of it. The history knows how these empires began and ended. The last one is the “Roman World Empire”, which will last till the end and will only be destroyed by God’s judgement right before the establishment of the “Kingdom of God”.

The constellation of this last world empire is mysterious. However, we have its sufficient description from all perspectives so we can see the full picture. Although this last empire broke down politically in 476 AD, its religious power greatly increased afterwards. John as the seer writes about this empire that it was, it is not and it will be again and become a united religious, political and economic power. This empire had its head and horns, as John describes, and it will have to be subdued and defeated if necessary. This power, one of its heads in particular, was wounded to death by a sword. This deadly wound was healed and all the world wondered. (Revelation 13:1-3).

This Scripture has been fulfilled before our very eyes. The most important head of the Roman Empire was Germany. On February 2, 962, Otto I was crowned Holy Roman Emperor (for the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation) by the pope. This country, as the most important head, was wounded to death by the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, through the Reformation and was delivered to a great extent from the power domain of the Roman Empire. The religious division into Protestants and Catholics was followed by the political division of the country into East and West. What the Counter-Reformation and religious wars failed to achieve is taking place now through religion-oriented politics.

After the Second World War, “Communism” as the archenemy was again and again used, especially before elections, to frighten electors. After the change of the government in 1969 doors opened to Eastern Europe as it had happened before in Western Europe. Understanding and reconciliation were the key issues. The fruit of this development has been seen recently. The division of denominations has also become outdated; on all important occasions there is no longer a Catholic or Evangelical worship service, but an ecumenical service. The political division of Europe into East and West has also disappeared. The unbelievable has become reality over the short time since the revolution in October and November 1989. The whole world holds its breath and marvels.

The biblical prophecy is coming to fulfilment before our very eyes; there will not be two or three important powers in Europe, but only ONE power. The British Empire broke down after the Second World War, the large Russian empire is falling apart now and so the Roman Empire can rise and flourish again based on the Treaty of Rome. It is all well underway including the European Parliament, European Court of Justice and European Central Bank. It is becoming apparent that the leading head will again be Germany as a turning point between East and West while other countries do not have the slightest feeling of danger. Even the geographical position fits perfectly. The “Third Reich” came to a shameful end, the fourth one will become a “world empire”. The Scripture must be fulfilled, therefore “peace and safety” will be declared before the destruction strikes. (1 Thessalonians 5)

As Bible believers, we are encouraged when we see the biblical prophecy fulfilled before our very eyes, because we can recognize that the time is at hand and we can lift up our heads in faith awaiting the redemption of our bodies, change and rapture. It is a true privilege to be taught by God Himself through His revealed Word.
