The whole world is astonished over the uniting of Germany and connected with it the uniting of Europe. The pace in which the events have taken place is enorm. Many times I was asked how it was possible for me to predict this uniting since over twenty years. It is very simple. I only stated what is predicted in bible prophecy. Daniel saw how, “… the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea and four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.“ (Dan. 7:2-3). Historically it is known how these world empires began and ended. The last one is the Roman empire. It will exist right to the end and be destroyed by God’s judgments directly before the ushering in of the Kingdom of God.

The constellation of this last world empire is very peculiar. But because it is being described from all directions, we have the overall view. Politically this world empire tumbled in 476 A.D. But religiously the influence from then just started in an unsurpassed way. The seer John describes this kingdom which was, is not and will be again, wherein political, religious, and economic power is united. This kingdom has its heads and also its horns. As the seer describes further, there was need for some to reign and also for others to push once in a while. This beast – power was wounded to death at one of its heads. Then we are told that this wound healed again and because of this “… the whole world wondered.“ (Rev. 13:1-3). Today this Scripture is fulfilled before our eyes. The main head of the Roman empire was Germany. Through the reformation the deadly wound was struck by the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. In certain periods it was called the “Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation.” Already on the 2nd February, 962, the Emperor Otto I had himself to be crowned by the pope above the “Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation”. This deadly wound by God’s holy. Word almost made an end to the Roman rulership. Then the nation was divided into protestants and catholics.

After World War II it was politically divided into East and West. What could not be achieved through the counter reformation and the religious wars is now taking place with religiously oriented politics. After World War II the arch enemy of the Roman church “communism” was struck at during every national election in our country by the so-called Christian party. Since the change of government to the Social Democrats in 1969 the door was opened to Eastern Europe. The pleading went out for understanding and reconciliation. In recent times the fruits of “détente” can be harvested. The division of the confessions is practically overcome. Everywhere at special occasions there is an ecumenical service. Also the political division is overcome. After Mr. George Bush saw the pope, he was given the clear concept of what is next on the agenda. Three weeks later Mr. Gorbatchev had his audience with the pope, and only after it our own politicians were informed about the uniting of the two Germanies. In a very short time since the national peaceful October/November revolution in 1989 the impossible has happened. Not only the whole world is breathless and wonders, but we who are here daily see and hear how rapid everything moves. On December 9th, 1989, our chancellor, Helmut Kohl, thanked the pope for the role he played in the uniting process right from the famous Brandenburg Gate in Berlin in a TV address.

Bible prophecy is being fulfilled before our eyes. There will not be two or three powers in Europe, but only one. After World War U the famous British Empire shattered. Now the big empire of the Soviet republics shattered and also other European nations were included in the process for one purpose; that this Roman empire will come into existence, based upon the Roman treaty of 1957. Everything is making progress. We do have the European parliament, we do have the European court, we do have the Central Bank of Europe. All is set for the new world order. The leading head, as can be seen, will be Germany. It is the turning point between East and West geographically, and has a leading position politically, religiously and economically. The Third Reich ended with World War II, now the fourth is being established. The Scripture has to be fulfilled in every way, right to the statement of peace and safety which is now very predominant (I Th. 5:3).

William Branham made a statement on March 19th, 1962, in a message preached in Tifton, Georgia, USA. Please take into consideration that it was only six months after the erection of the Berlin Wall.

“There has been a Roman revival. Do you know what happens? If they give the Eastern part of Berlin back, that puts communism (out). That puts the Roman empire just exactly into the circle it was in the times of Jesus Christ. Certainly, it does. Perfect.”

This statement has certainly come to pass. The Catholic church openly celebrates the victory over communism.

To all bible believing Christians it is encouraging when we do see bible prophecy fulfilled before our eyes. By this we know for sure that the time is near. We may lift our heads up, for most certainly our redemption is drawing near. It is a great privilege to know God by divine revelation and also to have the revealed Word of God and thereby being brought up-to-date in the Kingdom of God as well as in world progress.
